{"id":28,"date":"2019-04-02T20:22:09","date_gmt":"2019-04-02T20:22:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cafnrfaculty.missouri.edu\/mupaa\/?page_id=28"},"modified":"2024-11-06T16:03:06","modified_gmt":"2024-11-06T16:03:06","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cafnrfaculty.missouri.edu\/mupaa\/","title":{"rendered":"WELCOME TO the MU PAAL"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><span class=\"auto-style4\">The University of Missouri (Mizzou) <\/span><strong class=\"auto-style3\">Precision and Automated Agriculture Lab (PAAL)<\/strong><span class=\"auto-style4\"> is associated with the <a href=\"https:\/\/ast.missouri.edu\/\">Agricultural Systems Technology<\/a>, a program in the <a href=\"https:\/\/pst.missouri.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Division of Plant Science and Technology<\/a>,<\/span>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/cafnr.missouri.edu\">College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources<\/a>.<span class=\"auto-style4\"> With the focus of agricultural automation, research area involves sensing technologies in precision agriculture and phenomics (high throughput crop phenotyping), mechanical and robotic technologies in crop harvesting, management and breeding, and emerging technologies for Precision Livestock Farming (PLF). The PAAL is closely working with experts in Engineering, Plant Science (breeding, plant physiology, stress biology), Agronomy, Animal Science, veterinarian and other crop and animal related professionals. By adopting the state-of-art technologies in agricultural systems, researches will boost the solutions for world hunger and labor issues.<\/span> We recently initiated a new research center in digital agriculture. Current research focuses on <strong class=\"auto-style14\"><em class=\"auto-style13\">Integration of sensing, robotic and AI technologies to improve the efficiency of management, production and cost in crops and animals<\/em><\/strong>.
