Research Interests
My project involves better understanding the waterproofing mechanisms in maize nodal roots under drought stress. I use the lab’s split root system to maintain a specific soil water potential on the nodal roots. I grow a drought tolerant and a drought sensitive genotype to compare differences in their growth under different levels of water stress. My measurements include anatomical studies, transcriptional analysis, and phenotypic data.
