What a fruitful day at the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule Workshop in February!

A big shout-out to all attendees who joined us at the Neosho Extension Office and Yang Family Farm. Together, we delved deep into topics crucial for ensuring the safety and quality of our produce.

Special thanks to our expert speakers, Patrick Byer and Angela Brattin, for their invaluable insights, as well as to our co-project investigator, Dr. Touria Eaton from Lincoln University, and Ms. Annalisa Hultberg from the University of Minnesota. Your expertise on everything from pre-harvest assessments to developing farm food safety plans was enlightening.

We’re proud to have hosted such an engaging and educational event, sponsored by the USDA-NIFA Food Safety Outreach Program and the Missouri Farmers Union. This workshop has equipped our farmers with essential knowledge and further strengthened our commitment to a safer, more sustainable future.

Stay tuned for more updates and remember to keep prioritizing food safety!
